INTRODUCTION
Poznań this is a very good place for organizing congress of conference.
It has a location at the crossroads of traffic routes from Paris in the
west, through Berlin and Warsaw to Moscow in the east (the international
route A2) and from the Balkans in the south through the Baltic Sea to
Scandinavia in the north (the international route A5). The city has
international air connection with Dusseldorf, Dresden, Hanover, Leipzig,
Copenhagen (on Autumn starting a new connection with Brussels and maybe
with Zurich), as well as some domestic and international connections
through Warsaw. Poznań lies halfway between Warsaw and Berlin and is 81
miles from the German border. Travel on an Euro-City train from Poznań to
Berlin takes less than three hours (five trains a day).
Poznań is a trade capital of Poland. This status which the city enjoys
is due to the Poznań International Fair. Every year, it organizes nearly
30 different trade fairs and exhibitions, which welcome about 15,000
exhibitors, one fourth of which are foreign firms, while the number of
visitors to the Fair reaches 1,000,000. Poznań is the second largest
banking and business centre in Poland after Warsaw. The number of banks
rose dynamically and has reached over 50 Polish and foreign banks as well
as several insurance companies operating in the city.
To Polish and foreign
companies, economic chambers, trade associations, trade unions and
professional organisations, community groups, research institutes,
artistic associations, advertising and public relations agencies we offer
to hire and make use of modern and well-equipped halls for congresses,
conventions, conferences, symposia, seminars, training courses and
presentations. All halls are situated in the very centre of Poznań,
within a short distance of the railway station, bus station and Poznań
airport.
